ந்யாயம்

 

கரந்திருந்து ராவகன் சரந்தொடுத்த தால்கொலோ 

         புரந்தரந்தன் மைந்தனும் நிரந்தரத்தி லொன்றினான்

வரந்துரப்ப தாதையாற் சுரந்துணிந்த மைந்தனின் 

        பரந்தமைந்த வில்லெழு மரந்துளைத்த வண்ணமாய்

உரந்தணிந்த வர்ச்சுனன் இரந்துணர்ந்த கீதையாற் 

        கரந்திணிந்து கௌரவர் திரந்தொலைந்து போயினார் 

உரந்தெளிப்ப தும்பயிர் தரந்திளைப்ப  தும்பணி   

        சிரந்திணிந்த கீழ்மைகொல் நிரந்தராயெ நாதியே

பதம் பிரித்து

கரந்து இருந்து ராவகன் சரம் தொடுத்ததால் கொலோ 

         புரந்தரந்தன் மைந்தனும் நிரந்தரத்தில் ஒன்றினான்

வரம் துரப்ப தாதையால் சுரம் துணிந்த மைந்தனின் 

        பரந்து அமைந்த வில் எழு மரம் துளைத்த வண்ணமாய்

உரம் தணிந்த அர்ச்சுனன் இரந்து உணர்ந்த கீதையால் 

        கரம் திணிந்து கௌரவர் திரம் தொலைந்து போயினார் 

உரம் தெளிப்பதும் பயிர் தரம் திளைப்பது உம் பணி   

        சிரம் திணிந்த கீழ்மை கொல் நிரந்தரா என்  நாதியே

உரை

1. Because Rāghava shooting his arrow while hiding, the son of Indira (Vāli), became one with eternity 
2. Chased by the Boon (he granted) the father caused him to go to the forest, and he dared to. Therein his strong bow shot through seven Shala trees - similar to that...
3. The enervated Arjuna, upon begging for guidance and getting the Gītā, got such a shot in the arm that Kaurava strength got vanquished
4. To spray strengthening fertilisers and enjoy the lushness of (your sapling) is your job; (so) please kill the lowness that is thickly filled in my head 'O My Refuge'

One son of Indira - in the height of a tussle- was granted the heavens unexpectedly

Another son of Indira- losing all will to fight - was granted upon request - the right guidance

The guidance got through to him, like the arrow  that pierced the seven trees

Which was shot by Rama, who was sent to the forest, unwillingly by a father, who had to honour his word. 

All crops of the world are yours, and you care for them and rejoice in their growth. 

So, 'O Refuge of mine' clean up by muddled head.
